The Chicago police officer Jason Van Dyke who has been charged with first degree murder for the fatal shooting of 17-year old Laquan McDonald, over a year ago  is due to make a court appearance today after his arrest last week.

The Chicago Cop  was alleged to have shot  Laquan McDonald 16 times became a fact once the  Dash Cam Video released on Tuesday of last week showed Laquan McDonald walking very brusquely away  from Police. You then see officer Van Dyke pull up along side the parked police SUV jump out of the SUV and shoot Laquan actually sweeping his body around and knocking him to his feet. Laquan does not move except from the impact of bullets being fired into his already limp body.

Jason Van Dyke turned himself in last week and was then charged with the first-degree murder of Laquan McDonald, 17.

The police officer’s arrest on Nov. 24, more than a year after McDonald’s death, came hours before dash cam footage of the shooting was released after a judge ordered the City of Chicago to do so.

Last week, a judge announced that the footage of the shooting would be played at Van Dyke’s hearing today.

The 37-year-old police officer has been held without bond.
