Morrow, GA—Attorney and former Georgia Labor Commissioner Michael Thurmond is scheduled to speak at Clayton State University Tuesday, November 10, regarding “The Surprising Practicality of Philosophy for Life and Work.”
After serving as Georgia’s Labor Commissioner for three terms beginning in 1998, Thurmond went on to become interim Superintendent for DeKalb County Schools from 2013-2015. He’s currently practicing law at Butler Wooten Cheeley & Peak LLP, a nationally known civil trial practice. He has an undergraduate degree in Philosophy and Religion.
This event is sponsored by Clayton State’s Philosophy program, the Department of Humanities, and the College of Arts and Sciences. It is free and open to the public.
