PEACHTREE CORNERS, Ga. — The Urban Mediamakers Association of Gwinnett County, Georgia, announced today the official selections for the 14th Urban Mediamakers Film Festival (UMFF), October 8-11, 2015, at the Hilton Atlanta Northeast in Peachtree Corners. UMFF will showcase a total of 146 projects competing for over $20,000 in prizes and awards. With a diverse group of creatives and movie buffs, UMFF allows participants to attend:
- a free UMFF 2015 Opening Reception with Emmy-award winning documentary filmmaker Stanley Nelson;
- international film screenings presented in English, Spanish and other languages with subtitles;
- panels and workshops with Aniesia Williams, Entertainment Journalist, Kyle Bentley Evans, Creator, Producer and ShowRunner, Rushion McDonald, producer, Redelia Shaw, DGA – Second Assistant Director;
- Digital Marketing for Entrepeneurs series – FREE for entrepreneurs and non-profit organization;
- Omar Tyree, New York Times Best Selling Author, conversations with industry professionals;
- SpeedCollab networking event for the film and television industry;
- Young Urban Mediamakers (YUMs) Videopalooza, a middle and high school students video competition;
- #BlackLivesMatter Forum: “Changing the Black Narrative in Media;”
- a live script reading announcing top three UMFF 2015 writers;
