ATLANTA — The McBride family attracted the crème de la crème of the hair, beauty and entertainment industries to help the company commemorate the 25th anniversary of their ultra-popular Design Essentials® product during the 2015 mid-summer Bronner Bros. International Hair Show in downtown Atlanta.

From elite stylists to TV and music luminaries, trendsetters from all over the globe came to the Design Essentials® Beauty Pavilion and Gala to congratulate the family-owned brand on their success. Ledisi’s shared her favorite loc’d looks with the crowd during the “For The Love of Locs”presentation featuring her longtime stylist Michelle London. Master Loctitian and owner of Loc Mamas salon in Stone Mountain, GA, Michelle walked the crowd through the techniques she uses to achieve Ledisi’s signature styles.

Skipping the formalities, Ledisi and Design Essentials® Director of Marketing Taydra Mitchell-Jackson sat on the edge of the runway and connected with the audience on topics such as loving your unique beauty, making it through dark places, moving forward despite fear, transcending the effects of colorism and of course, learning to style and love your locs.
