Mercedes Benz Stadium: The future home of the Atlanta Falcons (photos)

mbstadium-falcon-plazaATLANTA — Just months after moving its U.S. headquarters to suburban Atlanta, Mercedes-Benz has another monumental acquisition: they have won the competition for the naming rights to the new Falcons stadium.
On Monday morning before an overflowing house, including the likes of Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, Georgia Governor Nathan Deal and Mercedez-Benz CEO Steve Cannon, Home Depot co-founder and Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank announced Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
Cannon said this is, by far, the the luxury automaker’s largest ever marketing deal, whether in the U.S. or worldwide.17
There are two very interesting developments on this deal: officials involved in the negotiations said Mercedes and the Falcons only began negotiating this deal AFTER Mercedes moved its U.S. headquarters to metro Atlanta.
Another development is this: there could be a conflict, however, because Mercedes Benz also have the naming rights to the Falcons greatest and longest-lasting rivals: the New Orleans Saints’ Louisiana Superdome.
Take a look at the renderings of what the new Mercedes Benz Stadium will look like.
