Dennis Archer Jr.’s new restaurant set to open

IMG_1623Downtown Detroit is now home to a modernized American gastropub, Central Kitchen + Bar, founded by Dennis Archer Jr. and partners.
“There are a number of phenomenal restaurants that have opened in downtown Detroit, but what we provide is essential,” said Archer. “I really don’t think any of them speak to the common pallet.”
The new pub is set to open to the public today, an exclusive invite only two-day tasting was held on Friday and Saturday.
Mayor Mike Duggan, former DPS Emergency Financial Manager Roy Roberts and others attended. The menu offers burgers, calamari, salmon and much more.
“I am excited for Denny Archer, I think he has a great concept and a great menu,” said Duggan. “I think when people try the food and taste how good it is they will keep coming back.”
Archer’s partners in the project are Christopher Brochert and Ken Karam. Karam is also a general manager for the pub. It is housed in the First National Bank building, which is owned by Bedrock and is located at 660 Woodward.
“Our space offers a lot of swag, we captured a lot of historic values of the building and space,” said Archer. “ I think it is truly a seamless mix that people will come to enjoy.”
Construction began March 16 of this year; Ron and Roman Architecture and Design Firm located in Birmingham designed the space.
“I am trying to create experiences, whether it’s the food or the drinks, I want the people to enjoy themselves,” said Archer.
