The National Association of Women Business Owners- Greater Detroit Chapter inducts Tanya R. Allen, founder and CEO of ForeverFresh, as the chapter president. Allen becomes president after serving the organization as a board member for three years. She brings to the organization over 25 years of experience as a woman business owner and a strong commitment to the mission of NAWBO-GDC.
“It is an honor to serve NAWBO-GDC as president,” said Allen. “Women business owners need access to capital, more business opportunities and favorable public policies to assist in these efforts. NAWBO has been advocating for women business owners for 40 years. I understand first-hand the issues women in business face and what solutions are needed to ensure their success.  NAWBO has had a great impact on me as a business owner and I want to use this platform to further impact the lives of other women.”
Allen will use her expertise to connect members to opportunities that will strengthen and grow their businesses and increase NAWBO GDC membership. She also intends to inform and engage members on national issues that relate to the viability of women in business.
“NAWBO is not just a business organization but it is also a sisterhood of women who pride themselves in helping each other.” said Allen. “I will continue to encourage this as well as business to business amongst our membership.”
Allen was initiated as NAWBO-GDC’s president at “Inspire the Change,” the organization’s Annual Business Meeting in June 2015. To learn more about Allen and the other newly installed board members visi twww.nawbogdc.org.
