Based upon how former NAACP chapter president Rachel Dolezal has trended at the top of social media charts for the past four days, millions of people are dying to find out what she was thinking, and her mental stability, when she decided to fraudulently take on the identity of a black woman nearly 10 years ago in Spokane, Wash.
According to an email dispatch from Ericka Mason hall at NBCUniversal, the white Dolezal will be given the opportunity to tell her side of the story Tuesday on several NBC properties.
Dolezal, the now former NAACP leader accused of misrepresenting her race, will break her silence in exclusive interviews with NBC News and MSNBC on Tuesday. Dolezal resigned from her position as president of the NAACP’s Spokane chapter on Monday amid the controversy.
Following a live, in-studio interview with Matt Lauer on “TODAY,” Dolezal will sit down for separate interviews with Savannah Guthrie for “NBC Nightly News,” Melissa Harris-Perry for MSNBC, and NBCBLK, NBCNews.com’s African-American vertical.
