Manny Pacquiao is the subject of two multimillion-dollar class action lawsuits, one in Las Vegas and other in Los Angeles, because he and his team failed to disclose a serious injury before he fought Floyd Mayweather in the richest fight in boxing history.
Emmanuel “Manny” Pacquiao, his promoter Bob Arum and Top Rank Boxing, along with others, are being hit with class-action lawsuits that claims Pac Man screwed over fans, Pay-per-view consumers and gamblers out of tens of millions of dollars for not telling the public that he had a serious shoulder injury that most likely impacted the outcome of the fight.
Pacquiaos’ camp is now saying he has a shoulder injury that is so serious it will require surgery and will take nine to 12 months to recover from. Pacquiao says he suffered the torn rotater cuff several weeks before the fight.
TMZ discover the lawsuit has been filed in federal court in Nevada in which Stephane Vanel and Kami Rahbaran are suing on behalf of of a group of people who believe they have been cheated — all while Pacquiao pocketed $100 million.
According to the suit, Vanel and Rahbaran claim they are fighting “on behalf of all persons who purchased tickets; purchased the pay-per-view event; or who wagered money on the event.”
The plaintiffs are suing Pacquiao, Bob Arum, Top Rank Boxing and others for consumer fraud and they’re demanding at least $5 million in damages.
The Los Angeles suit is identical to the one in Nevada but the plaintiffs in L.A. have included Mike Tyson’s quote as a way to drive home their point. They point out Iron Mike called it “the Dud of the Century.”
The folks in the Los Angeles lawsuit also looking for at least $5 million.
