Tia Mowry finally speaks on alleged feud with Keke Palmer

tia kekeSpeculation was flying that Brotherly Love star Keke Palmer had a thing for Tia Mowry’s husband Cory Hardrict after Palmer praised Hardrict in a recent press interview. Hardrict and Palmer play brother and sister in the Queen Latifah-produced film that recently opened.
During the press conference, Palmer recalled having a crush on him years ago. Tia Mowry was reportedly incensed at the innocuous statement and let her feelings known on social media:
“Saying you like married men in interviews [is] not cute… Just saying…” Mowry tweeted before deleting the comment immediately after. It was too late, however, as the tweet was captured (of course) and mentioned by Miss Messy, Wendy Williams, who had Palmer on her daytime talk show. According to Palmer, 21, her remarks were taken out of context.
“I’m sorry to be laughing at this, but it is very funny to me because it’s all so twisted,” Palmer told Williams. “What happened was, I’ve known Cory since I was 10 years old. He auditioned for ‘Akeelah and the Bee’ to play my big brother in the film. And in the interview I was talking about how the whole ‘Brotherly Love’ cast, we kind of grew up together.”
“I’ve known most of the cast since I was very young, including Cory. And I was like, ‘I’ve known Cory since I was 10, and I was like, I’m going to marry this man,’ as a 10-year-old. It was me quoting how I was as a kid,” she continued, saying that at the end of the day, everything was all “misconstrued.”
Williams chimed in later as she mentioned that she didn’t believe Palmer would want Hardrict, who is the father of a 3-year-old son with Tia.
Palmer added that she never meant her seemingly benign reminiscence of their past working relationship to cause current drama. She also said she harbors no ill will towards Mowry.
“That’s not my style,” Palmer said, repelling the rumors that she shacks up with married men. “But I do love Cory. I do love Cory and Tia.”
Mowry also spoke to madamenoire.com about the rumors of a feud:
“What’s really sad is that there’s no truth to that whatsoever. What’s really sad is that I guess there was a picture of me holding her wrist. What’s so sad is that we were uplifting each other in that moment. That’s what was so disgusting about the situation. She was telling me how much she looked up to me. I was telling her how proud I am of her. I was telling her about my book ‘Twintuition.’ She actually came over to our house and I gave her a signed copy of the book. It’s just really sad that we can’t have my husband do well or Keke do well without people having to make up disgusting rumors. There’s no truth to anything.”
