Lifestyles Report…Fun In Florida at Disney World

Disney World is a popular place. It is loved by young and old. I was there in February for my second visit and a first visit for my 5-year-old great nephew. I was thinking 5 was a good age for a first trip to Disney. We had a good time, but there were a few rides that scared him. He has a love for dinosaurs and can pronounce their names, and give you the history of the animal so I didn’t think a ride where the dinosaurs come to life would scare him. He was also terrified on the space ship simulator. I felt so bad for him because I was having a blast.
Because I have a love of Disney World that goes back 40 years I did not think about his lack of knowledge of the theme park. For me it was pure nostalgia, remember The “Wonderful World of Disney” on Sunday nights? In the four days that we were there, really three and a half we made it to four parks: Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Now that I look back on it, that was a lot.
Even though we stayed on Disney property we had to catch a bus to the park, go through security, go through the ticket line and then wade through the stores before we could get to the rides that normally had a line if you did not have a fast pass.
I must say a Disney trip is one of the most organized trips I have ever been on. From the time I made the reservations, I received emails and mail preparing us for the time of our lives; “Our Incredible Norrell Vacation.”  We had wrist bands that were encoded with our tickets to the park and our meals. If you didn’t want to carry anything you didn’t have to. Disney even has a photography plan so you don’t have to carry a camera. They think of everything, and when you come home you receive emails and mail that makes you feel special.
There were few down sides to the trip, but I did notice the lack of the “Disney approach” by some of the staff. Some of the lack of attentiveness could have been attributed to more of a language barrier than anything else, but I do plan to go back as soon as I save some more money. I think my next Disney stop will be a Disney Cruise. I would even consider a trip to Disney World for my 65th birthday. There is so much to do for adults. Shopping, spa treatments, dining and they have wine tastings throughout the year and I hear that Halloween and Christmas there is magnificent.
One thing I could not understand is why people brought infants and toddlers to the park, perhaps the parents used the kids as an excuse for them to come to Disney World. There were strollers everywhere you looked, and tons of people on scooters and walkers, but they were having fun and that is all that mattered.
