The 10th Annual Park Place AME Church Black History Awards Luncheon was held on Feb. 28 at the Second Baptist Ministry Hall, in West Mifflin. The event represented a commitment to celebrating African Americans’ pride and recognized those individual who pave the way for a brighter future. The Black History luncheon is one of the major fundraisers to aid the church in fulfilling it’s Christ-centered Mission.
The speaker for the afternoon event was Judge Kim Berkeley Clark, administrative judge of the Family Division for the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County. The 2015 class of honorees were: Esther Franklin, DeJah Hill, Rev. Stephen Daniel, Michael Aaron Glass and Richard Portis. The life and legacy of the late Rev. Kevin Parks, immediate past pastor of Park Place.
