Mosaic Youth Theatre pays tribute to icon Michael Jackson in annual concert

mosiacMosaic Singers in Concert will debut its first-ever tribute to pop icon Michael Jackson in its annual spring concert, along with its tradition of presenting stunning classical choral selections. “Make that Change: The Music of Michael Jackson” will be on stage at The Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts, Friday, March 6 to Sunday, March 8. Make that Change” is sponsored by Pepsi.
“This annual concert is an amazing opportunity to see the range of talents Mosaic’s young artists possess,” said Rick Sperling, founder and artistic director of Mosaic Youth Theatre. “Our young artists master challenging traditional choral selections and immediately transition to iconic Michael Jackson songs with full choreography.  It’s a true showcase of their immense talent and we are thrilled to present this to the region.”
“Make that Change” will open with a choral rendition of Michael Jackson’s “Human Nature”, and will carry the audience into a first act that fuses classical choral selections, such as “Precious Lord” with Michael Jackson songs. The second act will be full-out, Michael Jackson-themed performances with singing and choreography to hits like “Off the Wall,” “Thriller” and “Beat It.” “Make that Change” includes 27 songs.
 “Mosaic Singers continues to raise the bar of musical excellence and this show is no different.” said DeLashea Strawder, director of music programs, “Make that Change will bring to life the singing and dancing of some of the region’s most talented youth.”
Tickets for all performances of “Make that Change: The Music of Michael Jackson” can be purchased online at www.mosaicdetroit.org. Tickets are $24 for general admission and $16 for students and seniors with valid ID. Priority Reserved Seating is available for $32 per ticket.  Children under five are not admitted.
