Atlanta Business League to discuss South DeKalb Empowerment in Decatur

The Atlanta Business League will facilitate discussions on the County Line/Ellenwood Community Empowerment Project at the Porter Sanford Performing Arts and Community Center in Decatur, Ga., on Tuesday, Feb. 17.
This illustrious assemblage of business leaders, educators and legislators will also hold discussions on the future of the South DeKalb County community as a whole. Commissioner Larry Johnson of District 3 will lead the forum on the east suburban Atlanta region that is one of the wealthiest collections of African Americans in the nation. Milton Jones Jr. and Leona Barr Davenport, the ABL Board Chair and president/CEO, respectively, will also engage in the talks.
This will be the third installment of the County Line/Ellenwood Community Empowerment Summit. The participants will discuss the following:

  • Economic development opportunities in the County Line/Ellenwood area as well as South Dekalb;
  • A comprehensive look at the history of business development in South DeKalb;
  • Upcoming opportunity for small business development.
