Malinda Williams stars the UP Network original movie "Marry Us For Christmas."
“Intuitively I knew they were going to do a sequel (to “Marry Me for Christmas”),” said Malinda Williams (Soul Food) about the continuation of her role as Marci Jewel in UP Networks’ original movie “Marry Me For Christmas.” The former Gospel Music Channel (GMC), now Uplifting Entertainment (UP), is airing the sequel “Marry Us For Christmas” on Sunday December 7, 2014 at 7 p.m. EST. “The chemistry was so great. I would have been surprised if they didn’t.”
In the premiere movie last year “Marry Me For Christmas” Malinda’s character Marci launched her own advertising agency. While pretending to be engaged for the holiday visit back home she discovers love. The UP original movie ended with her about to marry her new-found love, Blair, played by Karon Riley (35 and Ticking).
The sequel, “Marry Us For Christmas,” has Marci and Blair rethinking the wedding as they both discover they have secrets. This sequel also has Marci’s mother Stephanie, played by Victoria Rowell (“The Young and the Restless”), making bold moves with her salsa dance teacher Antonio – 20 years her junior – played by Kristoff St. John (“The Young and the Restless”).
“Will we get married? That remains to be seen. There might be two weddings. You have to tune in to find out,” Williams said bout the Christmas drama. “…There is a race to the alter!”
Malinda is a New Jersey native whose credits include Daddy’s Little Girl, First Sunday, “Girlfriends’ Getaway,” The Undershepherd, and “Law and Order: SVU.”
“Marry Us For Christmas” airs Sunday December 7th at 7 p.m. EST on the UP network.
