NBC News’ medical reporter appeared on the “Today” show this morning and apologized again for breaking her self-quarantine during the Ebola scare.
“I’m very sorry for not only scaring my community and the country, but adding to the confusion of terms (which), I think, came as fast and furious as the news about Ebola did,” Snyderman said.
The medical journalist was reporting on the outbreak from Liberia in October when a cameraman in her crew, Ashoka Mukpo, came down with the deadly virus. When Snyderman returned to the States, she promised to stay inside of her Princeton home for 21 days. But after three, she was spotted outside getting take out.
Snyderman insisted she was feeling well when she broke her promise to stay inside.
“So when I came back from Liberia with my team, we’d already been taking our temperatures four, five, six times a day,” she said. “And we knew our risks in our heads, but didn’t really appreciate — and, frankly, we were not sensitive to — how absolutely frightened Americans were. So we came back, agreed to a voluntary quarantine in my home and 72 hours later left my home.
