Granite City Food & Brewery To Open In RenCen

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAKirk Pinho of Crain’s Detroit Business reports that the Minnesota-based chain, Granite City Food & Brewery Ltd. , is set to open up a place in the Rencen next October.
Pinho writes:
The downtown Detroit restaurant will have 16,000 square feet of space inside the region’s largest office complex and a 1,000-square-foot outdoor patio facing Jefferson Avenue. It will employ 200-250 full- and part-time employees and seat more than 450 inside and another 175 diners outside. Construction is expected to begin in January, and the build-out is estimated at $9 million.
The chain already has a place in Troy and is planning to open one in Northville Park Place.
The company’s website says: “We brew our own beer in-house, seriously.”
The menu includes vodka mussels; Asian glazed shrimp; salads, steaks, fish tacos and grilled salmon.
