Business Training & Counseling Associate Small Business Detroit Loan Program, Detroit Office
Job Description: Full-time position with benefits, reports to Business Development Manager
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide assistance and referrals to prospective loan recipients and applicants
  • Work with Business Growth Manager to provide technical assistance to loan recipients
  • Work with Business Development Manager to further promote Small Business Detroit Loan Program
  • Review loan portfolio reports with loan staff and Executive Director to create strategies for addressing delinquent loans
  • Teach Business Planning & Development classes
  • Coordinate and teach Detroit loan orientations and provide follow-up to attendees
  • Plan and deliver quarterly Entrepreneurial Roundtable sessions
  • Participate on external committees when needed
  • Grow relationships and alliances with business development organizations and resources in Southwest and Northend communities

Detroit Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Attend loan and staff meetings
  • Prepare reports as requested by Executive Director

Other assignments as requested Required:

  • Must have valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
  • Must have intermediate skills in MS Office Suite – Word, Excel and Powerpoint, Internet and Outlook email system
  • Two years’ experience in business training, counseling or managing a business or equivalent business degree
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize job tasks
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a group setting
