Rapper Big Pun's Mother is a Serial Bank Robber

A Miami woman who was caught robbing a bank in South Florida late last month is believed to be the mother of none other than late rapper Big Pun.
Gail Simpson, 63, was apprehended by the Miami-Dade Police Department on Sept. 23 after she walked into a Wells Fargo branch at around 3:30 p.m. and demanded money from a teller. Simpson got off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
After she scampered off with the thick stacks, word began to circulate about Simpson’s true identity. Her real name is Gail Tirado, and she’s been in trouble for robbing a bank before. She’s currently on probation from a June attempted armed robbery conviction.
She reportedly started robbing banks because the family has blown through the funds from Big Pun’s estate. The Bronx-born rapper’s family has been struggling to survive ever since he died of a heart attack in 2000.
Last month Pun’s widow, Liza Rios filed a lawsuit against another rapper, Fat Joe, claiming that he hasn’t paid her royalties from Pun’s 1998 single “Still Not a Player.” She’s asking for more than $1 million.
Meanwhile, Pun’s mom has a good relationship with Joe despite the money matters.
