*(Newark, NJ) – The Rhythm Group, a non-profit organization founded by national recording artist, Lance Williams, will host its signature conference, The Rhythm Youth Movement (RYM), on Friday, September 27th through Saturday, September 28, 2014 at New Brunswick High School, Somerset, New Jersey.
While the weekend-long event is open to everyone, the conference is particularly committed to helping at-risk youth in the Tri State Area, grades 7 through 12, identify and maximize their strengths.
The conference will feature music industry professionals and award-winning artists who will facilitate workshops and life-coaching sessions, participate on panels, and offer keynote addresses on topics ranging from improving self-confidence to honing artistic gifts to developing essential business management acumen.
“We want our young people to leave this experience realizing how valuable they are and that no dream is too big if they are willing to put in the work,” says Lance Williams. “With sweat equity and proper guidance, absolutely anything is possible, and if we will teach this to our children, we can help to improve their lives and the communities we live in.”
Special guests at this year’s RYM Conference include Michelle Williams of the multiple GRAMMY Award-winning group, Destiny’s Child; double GRAMMY Award winner Tye Tribbett; Stellar Award winner, Kiera “KiKi” Sheard; and chorale director extraordinaire, JJ Hairston.
If you would like to cover the cost of a young person’s admission to RYM, consider making a donation of $20 to the organization. For your information about sponsorship and conference details, go to www.therhythmgroup.org .
