Human Rights Celebration
AUG. 2—Church Women United Pittsburgh Unit will host its Human Rights Celebration at 9:30 a.m. at Bethel AME Church, 2720 Webster Ave., Hill District. The theme will be “Through God Our Hands Can Protect.” This year’s Human Rights awardee is Rod Doss, editor and publisher of the New Pittsburgh Courier. Registration is requested and includes lunch. Gospel Celebration
AUG. 2—A Mother’s Heart will host a White Gospel Celebration at 3 p.m. at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel, 1 Bigelow Square, Downtown. Guests are asked to where white attire and they will enjoy music, mime and more from guest psalmists Assignment Mime Ministry, Pastor Brian Wright, Voices of Christ, Curtis Lewis, T. Healing Stream
AUG. 3—Bethlehem Baptist Church, 716 Walnut St., McKeesport, will host its Healing Stream Prayer Service. The first Sunday of each month, following the Sunday morning worship service, guests can step into the healing stream and let the Lord refresh, renew, restore and heal them. Vacation Bible School
AUG. 4—Second Baptist Church, 108 W. 12th Ave., Homestead. Will host its Vacation Bible School from 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. The weeklong event is for children ages 5-18 and has a theme of “As for me and my house we will serve the Lord.” This year’s program is the Jesus’ Family Reunion and will include bible lessons, crafts, games, music and lunch. Holy Convocation
AUG. 4—Pentecostal Temple COGIC, 6300 East Liberty Blvd., East Liberty, will host its annual Holy Convocation. The convention, which will run through Aug. 9, will include guest speakers such as Bishop Barbara Amos, Rev. Dr. Jamal Bryant and Pastor Brian Edmonds, along with guest musicians James Ziegler & Another Level and national recording artist Karen Clark Sheard. For more information, call 412-361-7000.

Night of Worship

Pastoral Anniversary
Aug. 9—Trinity AMEZ Church, 3105 Allendale St., Sheridan, will host its 10th Pastoral Anniversary Celebration at 5 p.m. at Cefalo’s Restaurant, 438 Washington Ave., Carnegie. Women’s & Teen’s Conference
AUG. 21—Greater Allen AME Church, 3600 California Ave., North Side, will host its Women’s & Teen’s Conference. The theme is “Christian Women Standing Strong in the Lord.” The conference, which will run through Aug. 24, will include a Youth Revival on Aug. 21 at 7 p.m.; a Comedy Night on Aug. 22 at 7 p.m.; workshops on Aug. 23 at 10 a.m.; and a Women’s Day Service on Aug. 24 at 10:30 a.m. with guest preacher Rev.
