AFP RALLIES TO STOP "EPA POWER GRAB" in Atlanta

Americans for Prosperity will hold a rally in Atlanta on Tuesday, July 29 in opposition to new regulations proposed by the Environmental Protection Agency, saying they will hurt job growth, make energy less affordable for hardworking taxpayers, and make America less competitive in the global marketplace.
AFP President Tim Phillips will attend the EPA rally in Atlanta, where the state chapter will introduce the Georgia Energy Freedom Alliance and the Georgia Energy Freedom Guiding Principles.
“President Obama’s EPA is waging a war on traditional affordable energy through burdensome regulations and unrealistic mandates. It’s time for the American people to stand up to this federal overreach, and send a message that they cannot afford to pay for Obama’s environmental ideology,” said Tim Phillips.
In early June, the Obama administration announced the latest in its ideology-driven attack on traditional energy production — a new EPA rule to cut carbon-dioxide emissions from coal- and gas-fired power plants across the United States. This proposed rule mandates a reduction of 30 percent of the greenhouse gas emissions from the nation’s power plants by 2030, based on 2005 emissions levels.
RALLY DETAILS: Outside the Sam Nunn Atlanta Federal Building (on the Alabama Street side of the building), 61 Forsyth Street SW in Atlanta, at 12 Noon.
