Another father has landed himself in jail after leaving his children unattended in a car. You won’t believe why he did it!

Juan Munford was arrested by Prince George County, Virginia, police early Friday morning after they came across his 1-year-old twin daughters crying in a car by themselves. The windows of the vehicle were rolled down.

Officers immediately went looking for whoever left the children, and they found Juan about 30 feet away. They caught him in the middle of hooking up with a woman named LaToya Wilson behind a building.

“We went around to the back of the duplex and discovered a male and a female engaging in sexual intercourse,” Prince George Police Capt. Brian Kei told WTVR. “At that point they [police] made contact with the individual who identified himself as the father of the two twins.”

Juan’s partner was charged with indecent exposure, but cops released her moments later. He, however, is facing two counts of felony child endangerment and indecent exposure.

Juan spent the weekend in jail, and he’s expected to appear before a judge for a hearing this week. His daughters were Southside Regional Medical Center before being handed off to child protective services.

There have been a number of stories about children being left in cars this year.

Last month, Justin Harris of Georgia was charged with murder for leaving his 22-month-old son Cooper in a hot SUV. The child died as the result of being left in the sweltering vehicle for seven hours while strapped into his car seat on June 18. Justin’s bond has been denied and he was banned from attending the toddler’s memorial service.

KPHO.com reports that Charges were dropped in the cast of a homeless Arizona mother named Shanesha Taylor, who left her children in a car so that she could go on a job interview.

Most recently, though, another child in Connecticut died on July 17. Police told the Associated Press that the 15-month-old boy had been left unattended in a car for an “extended period of time” on a day when temperatures outside rose to nearly 90 degrees.
