Bishop Vinton Randolph Anderson, the 92nd elected and consecrated bishop of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2014.
Elected to the episcopacy in 1972, Bishop Anderson, was a pastor, writer, ecumenist, liturgist and leader in Methodism throughout the world.

He served eight years the 1990s as bishop of the Fifth Episcopal District where he became well known and beloved by Angelinos of all faiths.
Funeral services are pending.
