Thousands of downtown Atlanta workers and residents were forced to stand outside for over an hour while police dogs swept through MARTA’s Civic Center station.

MARTA police bomb squad was on the scene along with members of the Atlanta Police Department and agents with Homeland Security.
MARTA spokeswoman Alisa Jackson said trains on the north and south lines were continuing through the station without stopping. No bus bridge had been set up since the adjacent stations, Peachtree Center and North Avenue, are within walking distance of the Civic Center station, she said.
Stay tuned for further developments.
