ATLANTA (AP) — Nearly 200 people from the Atlanta area are featured in an African-American oral history video collection that’s now being housed at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.
The History Makers archive is a collection of thousands of hours’ worth of oral history interviews that illustrate the African American experience. Organizers say the collection includes 2,600 hours of videotaped interviews from contributors in 39 states.
The Rev. Joseph Lowery and Andrew Young are among the nearly 200 metro Atlanta residents who are included in the collection.
