BET Awards 2014: Jill Scott, Maxwell blow back audiences at L.A. Live

IMG_5114LOS ANGELES — Fans nearly blew the roof off the Staples Center when the bass beats of Jill Scott’s “The Way” spilled from the stadium speakers during the BET Experience at L.A. Live during the BET Awards Weekend.
Rising telecom star Cricket Wireless picked the right event to take a contingent of journalists to in order to get immersed within the comprehensive “BET Experience.”

Amber Ambrosius set the mood by unfurling her vocal acrobatics on the audience using the impressive portfolio of hits from her tenure with Floetry as well as from her solo LP Late Nights & Early Mornings. Fine Philadelphia feline Jill Scott then turned the Staples Center into a giant sing-along session with the monster ballads and club anthems that made her a household name, including “A Long Walk,” “He Loves Me,” and “Golden.”
Music heartthrob Maxwell followed Scott and sent the thongs of predominantly female fans into a frenzy as he continuously gyrated, posed, pranced and sang silkily through his smash hits such as “Pretty Wings” and “This Woman’s Worth.” He also blew wigs back with some of his suggestive serenading that went well beyond a PG-rating, setting the ambience for a cadre of pillow music that was literally responsible for helping to birth a new generation.
The 2014 BET Awards will air live from the Nokia Theater in downtown Los Angeles on the evening of Sunday, June 29.
