Amid the torrent of activity and confusion on the red carpet premiere for Think Like a Man Too in Atlanta, Kevin Hart was a paragon of serenity.
The superstar comedian-actor and star of the sequel to the blockbuster original, 2013’s Think Like a Man, worked the red carpet like the conductor of an orchestra, bending this moment in time to his will. He weaved in and out of interviews and photo takes like a running back looking daylight and never seemed to tire from the repetitive questions, nor did he recoil from the many hot breaths shooting nasal stingers at him (I know because a few of them left a film of funk on my face.)
He simply drank in many inane inquiries from novice reporters and bloggers — who can’t even construct a single legible sentence — without coughing it back up in disgust. And that smile was pasted on his grill for so long, you thought his face would crack.
Hart was the first of the stars of the film to show up and, long after his costars were worn down and sought reprieve from reporters and paparazzi inside movie theater, he continued to exercise almost preternatural patience with even the dumbest of questions.
I was quite impressed with Hart’s performance — and I hadn’t even seen the movie yet.
