EVENT CO-CHAIRS—Kiya Tomlin, Christy Wiegand, Annie Engel and Debbie Demchak

Fedora’s, cloche, pillboxes and even a hat made like a beehive were seen at the most fabulous hat luncheon in Pittsburgh. On May 3, at the Entry Garden at Highland Park, the Sixteenth Annual Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy Hat Luncheon attracted over 625 attendees. Ladies and gents sipped on mimosas and enjoyed a delightful lunch catered by the Duquesne Club.
Since its inception, the Hat Luncheon events have raised more than $6 million toward Parks Conservancy restoration projects. In addition the Parks Conservancy has raised more than $70 million since it was founded in 1996 and has completed 13 capital projects in Pittsburgh’s Parks. Among the projects that proceeds from the 2014 luncheon will go towards are Mellon Square Park and Cliffside Park.
This year’s event co-chairs were Debbie Demchak, Annie Hanna Engel, Charlene Petrelli, Kiya Tomlin and Christy Wiegand.
There is so much to enjoy in Pittsburgh’s parks, so please mark your calendars for the Reservoir of Jazz in Highland Park; Bach, Beethoven and Brunch in Mellon Park; the Mellon Square Concert Series; Stars at Riverview Jazz Series; and WYEP Concerts at Schenley Plaza.
