‘Young and Restless’ Star Angell Conwell Talks Bounce TV’s New ‘Family Time’ Comedy

Ten years ago, Omar Gooding and Angell Conwell hit the big screen in John Singleton’s “Baby Boy.”
Now they are heating up the small screen as a married couple in the new Bounce TV situation comedy “Family Time.”  Our associate, LaCora Stephens was on set to get the scoop on the rising star Angell Conwell.
Angell portrays the role of Lisa, the mother of The Stallworths, a working class African American family who scratches off a lottery ticket and jumps to middle class overnight. They’re an authentic picture of an African American family working to live the dream. This family-next-door consists of two loving parents: Anthony (Omar Gooding) and Lisa (Angell Conwell) Stallworth and their children Ebony (Jayla Calhoun) and Devin (Bentley Kyle Evans, Jr.) The Stallworths move to a middle class community in sunny southern California and both Anthony and Lisa bring baggage and other family members into their relationship that makes for great comedy – and occasional drama.
The redundancy of the couple makes you wonder if they’ve ever hit it off in real life.  Angell admitted that they dated and Omar Gooding was actually her first love! Makes you wonder if it’s another chance for them in real life.  Both are unmarried, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
This year, Angell’s other gig “Young & the Restless,” celebrated 41 years.  She mentioned that she has been with the soap opera for about four years now. Angell is such a lovely young lady with so much ahead of her. Find out more about Angell at @AngellConwell on Twitter & Instagram
