If you’re a Will Packer watcher, this next bit of news from his pub person, Staci R. Collins-Jackson, probably won’t surprise you
It seems Will Packer Productions has sold “Me Time,” a comedy pitch from Ken Marino & Erica Oyama, to Universal.
The plot is being kept under wraps but is described as a female two hander road comedy in the vein of “Planes, Trains and Automobiles.”
Will Packer will produce with Barbara Dreyfus, his head of motion pictures, executive producing.  Universal’s senior vice president of production, Erik Baiers, will oversee the project for the studio.
Packer’s RIDE ALONG has grossed more than $150 million worldwide for Universal this year. Via his Will Packer Productions shingle, plans are underway for “Ride Along 2″ and his untitled “Girls Trip” film is set to begin production this summer.  His highly-anticipated “Think Like A Man Too” hits theaters on June 20 and his thriller, “No Good Deed,” starring Taraji P. Henson & Idris Elba will debut on September 12. Packer also has THE “Wedding Ringer” starring Kevin Hart and Josh Gad set for January 16, 2015.
Marino and Oyama are writing the feature’s “Go the F**k to Sleep” at Fox 2000 and “Return of mthe Jocks” at Fox and together created the popular Yahoo/E! series “Burning Love” from Ben Stiller’s Red Hour, which Oyama wrote Marino starred and directed.  Marino wrote and co-starred in the comedies “Role Models” and “Wanderlust” both for Universal. Separately Oyama is adapting the book “White Girl Problems” for Lionsgate & Brownstone Productions.
Marino is one of the hottest artists in the comedy business, starring in the just picked up to series NBC comedy “Marry Me” opposite Casey Wilson, and has been set for a starring role in the Columbia feature “Goosebumps.” He co-starred in last year’s hit comedy WE’RE THE MILLERS for New Line and the recently released the VERONICA MARS feature for Warner Bros and had a season long arc on the final season of HBO’s “Eastbound and Down.” He also directed episodes of the ABC comedies “Super Fun Night,” “Trophy Wife” and The Goldbergs.”
