TriStar Pictures’ 'Mom’s Night Out' Kids Steal the Scenes

TriStar Pictures’ presentation of Mom’s Night out stars Sean Astin and Patricia Heaton (right).
*“It’s…a look, a celebration of middle class America,” said Sean Astin (Lord of the Rings) about his newest project TriStar Pictures’ Mom’s Night Out. “I’ve been married for 21 years. This is written, directed and produced by people in relationships that have kids. It springs from our own experiences.”
Rated PG Mom’s Night Out also stars Sarah Drew (Grey’s Anatomy), Patricia Heaton (“Everybody Loves Raymond”) – also co-executive producer; her husband David Hunt the cabbie is also co- executive producer; Andrea Logan White, Abbie Cobb, Kevin Downes the bachelor friend is also producer; Robert Amaya, Alex Kendrick, Harry Shum, Jr., Trace Adkins, Manwell Reyes, Michael Leone, Shiloh Nelson, and Sammi Hanratty.
“My husband and I wanted to be more involved than actors,” said Patricia Heaton when questioned about their active role as executive producers. “Especially for my character Sondra (a pastor’s wife), I didn’t know about their struggle. I did research on pastor’s wives…one thing was the same…they were lonely. Everyone (in the church) comes to them, but they can’t come to them… so they feel isolated.”
The comedy follows three couples and how they deal with parenting, but the kids steal the scenes from the adults totally in this film. The kids even adlib some lines I was told, some very funny lines too that were kept in the film.
Jon Erwin is co-director with brother Andrew Erwin, and is also co-writer with Andrea Nasfell. Mom’s Night Out is a AFFIRM and Provident Film production.
