Morning Star celebrates 95th anniversary

    Morning Star Baptist Church, in Clairton, celebrated its 95th church anniversary during the weekend of April 4-6.

    On April 4, the church held a celebration banquet at the Westwood Golf Club, located at 825 Commonwealth Ave., in West Mifflin, honoring Rev. William C. Callaway of Mt. Olive First Baptist Church of Clairton. The guest preacher was Rev. Dr. Alyn E. Waller of the Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church, in Philadelphia.

    The celebration continued with a community basketball sporting event at Clairton Park on April 5 and the congregation’s celebration of its 95th Church Anniversary during its regular morning service.

    The guest preacher was Rev. Clifford Carter, president of the Pennsylvania State Baptist Convention.
