Writing for Web/Social Media
    APRIL 29—The Robert Morris University Bayer Center for Nonprofit Management will host “Writing for the Web and Social Media” from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at 339 Sixth Ave., Suite 750, Downtown. Cindy Leonard will teach how to improve your written website and social media content, increase one’s site’s usability, and leverage one’s website and social media as communication tools. Urban Power to Prosper
    APRIL 29—The University of Pittsburgh Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence will host its Urban Power to Prosper Program from 5:45-8:45 p.m. at the University Club, 123 University Place, Oakland. The topic will be “Human Resources.” The Urban Power to Prosper Program is for a 9-month certificate program; ideal for small business owners who are located in an inner city neighborhood in Pittsburgh, who have been in business for a minimum of three years and much more. Members’ Mixer
    APRIL 30—The African American Chamber of Commerce of Western Pennsylvania will host its Members’ Mixer from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Pittsburgh Athletic Association, 4215 Fifth Ave., Oakland. The host for the evening will be Renee DiMichiei Farrow. This is an opportunity for Chamber members to network with each other. Attendees are asked to also bring business cards. Business Opportunity Fair
    MAY 7—The Eastern Minority Supplier Development Council will host its 38th Annual Business Opportunity Fair at 8 a.m. at the Monroeville Convention Center, 209 Mall Plaza Blvd., Monroeville. This fair, designed for minority business owners, corporate minority supplier development professionals, purchasing executives and decision-makers, will include a breakfast with Bill Flanagan as the emcee, a speed networking session, live entertainment and a luncheon with a corporate panel.
