President Barack Obama is pitching his budget proposal as “a roadmap for creating jobs.”
Obama announced his $3.9 trillion fiscal 2015 budget Tuesday that would boost taxes on the wealthy and expand tax credits for workers.
He said the budget reflects a choice for Americans – whether to protect tax breaks for wealthy Americans or grow the economy. Republicans say the proposal spends too much on government programs.
Obama made his remarks at a Washington elementary school that provides full-day preschool for children starting at 3 years old. It’s an example of the type of universal preschool that he’s proposing but has not been embraced by Republicans in Congress.
