The Seattle Seahawks‘ star corner Richard Sherman is known for talking King Kong-level smack–and backing it up with his play–and tonight was no different when he broke up a critical pass in the end zone intended for Michael Crabtree during the forth quarter of the NFC championship game.
After the play, Sherman walked up to Crabtree and began mouthing off at the receiver, drawing a flag for unsportsmanlike conduct. The two are known not to like each other and have engaged in bitter banter over the season.
The Seahawks went on to defeat the San Francisco 49ers 23-17, but what happened when Fox Sports’ Erin Andrews interviewed Sherman was classic. Here’s a transcript of the short interview:
Andrews: “Richard, let me ask you about the final play. Take me through it.”
Sherman: “Well, I’m the best corner in the game. When you try me with a sorry receiver like Crabtree, that’s the result you’re going to get. Don’t you ever talk about me.”
Andrews: “Who was talking about you?”
Sherman: “Crabtree. Don’t you open your mouth about the best. Or I’m ma shut it for you real quick. L.O.B (Legion of boom, the nickname of the Seahawks secondary).”
Andrews: “Alright, before … Well, Joe, back over to you.”
