Clark Atlanta Panthers Roll to Second Conference Win

CAU-7.gifSenior guard Jarrel Joye dropped 23 points and helped the Panthers of Clark Atlanta University to a 94-91 win against conference foe Stillman College at Epps Gymnasium Monday.
In a see-saw battle throughout the game, the Panthers clung to a slim 44-43 halftime advantage while shooting 41 percent from the floor. Clark Atlanta (6-6, SIAC 2-2) led by as many as 13 points in the second period before the Tigers (8-9) climbed back to cut the deficit to three which was as close as they would come to lead. The Panthers received a huge lift off the bench led by Christian Houston and Kevin James who contributed 17 and 15 points, respectively. Jordan Husley rounded out the double-digit scoring for the Panthers with 14 points on the night. Stillman’s Stanley Magee finished with a team-high 18 points on 9-of-15 shooting. With the win, CAU stands in fifth place in the SIAC East Division.
Next, the Panthers will host Miles College at Epps Gymansium Thursday, Jan. 16 at 8 p.m.
