‘Love Thy Neighbor’ Returns to OWN

love-they-neighborThe Tyler Perry takeover is in effect, at least on the OWN Network. Thursday night at 9 p.m., the second season of “Love Thy Neighbor” kicks off. Palmer Williams is one of its stars. He plays Floyd Stanley Jackson, the co-owner of the restaurant that Hattie Mae runs. Williams is a veteran of Perry’s stage plays and also appeared on “House of Payne,” where he played the same character.
“This is a continuation of the zaniness that I’ve been bringing with the different theatrical performances and now I’m bringing it to television once again and to a brand new show on the OWN network.,” Williams told the Tom Joyner Morning Show. You can’t beat that.”
An Alabama native (whose roots are from Alabama counties not far from where Tom’s family hails from), Williams says when you come from a small Southern town, you have to “put yourself in a situation where you can be found.”
He was doing praise dancing at his church and playing the character of Jesus when Perry visited his church. He got an audition the next day and six days later he was on “House of Payne.”
