“Being Mary Jane” is back and audiences are so excited that they just can’t hide it.
The BET scripted series made it’s return to the small screen Tuesday, and if you were one of the four million viewers who got a taste of the juicy drama last July, then you know why we have our popcorn ready and DVRs set.
Not only does Gabrielle Union deliver a stellar performance of single Black career girl Mary Jane Paul, but she stars alongside sexy eye candy Omari Hardwick. HelloBeautiful caught up with the talented actor at the HBO premiere of “Boardwalk Empire” and he shared what it was like working with Union and showing major skin in the steaming bedroom scenes.
“I’m just really happy for Gabby to be able to be seen in a different light,” said Omari, who plays Mary Jane’s married love interest. “I think a lot of folks who are even fans of hers perhaps wanted to see her in a multi—diminutional, multi-layered character and this allows for that so it’s great.”
He went on to say that working with show creator and executive producer Mara Brock Akil was a pleasure. “I’m glad to assist Mara Brock Akil and Salim — my friends, brother and sister to me. What a great cast. We have an incredible cast of like 10 deep that are all bring their A-game and it’s cool!”
