marta_logo.jpegIt’s time to say goodbye to 2013 and welcome the New Year with MARTA!  For only $2.50 each way (plus a $1 charge to purchase a Breeze card), MARTA is an easier, more convenient way to all of the festivities.

Customers are encouraged to purchase a roundtrip fare at the start of their trip to avoid long lines on the return. Remember, one Breeze card per person, and riders must tap to enter and exit stations.

Parking for less than 24 hours is free at all of MARTA’s daily parking facilities. Customers parking in the decks at Lindbergh Center Station must park in MARTA designated areas and validate their parking ticket at machines inside the station in order to receive free daily parking.  Please note that MARTA has some designated lots which charge a fee.

For the Peach Drop at Underground Atlanta, take the Red, Gold or Blue Lines to Five Points Station. The Chick-fil-A Bowl and Fanfare are easily accessible by the Dome/GWCC/Philips Arena/CNN Center Station on the Blue Line, as is the Widespread Panic concert at Philips Arena.

On New Year’s Eve, MARTA will run a weekday schedule with extra rail service as needed to get customers to and from events. The last trains on New Year’s Eve for the Red, Gold and Blue lines will leave from Five Points Station at 2 a.m.

On the Red and Gold Lines, trains will run every 15 minutes throughout the day, with both lines running continuously from North Springs and Doraville Stations south to the Airport.

The Red Line will not turn back at Lindbergh Center Station during the evening, with 7½ minute train frequencies on the Red and Gold Lines from Lindbergh Center Station to Airport until the end of revenue service.

On the Blue and Green Lines, trains will run every 15 minutes throughout the day. Green Line trains will run only from Bankhead Station to Vine City Station starting at approximately 6 p.m. Green Line trains will operate until 2 a.m.

MARTA bus service will be operating on a modified Saturday schedule on New Year’s Eve, with normal Saturday bus service in addition to Routes 24, 143 and 148 operating on their weekday schedules on New Year’s Eve; those routes do not normally operate on the weekend.

From 12:30 to 3 p.m. on New Year’s Eve, Bus Routes 1, 16, 51 and 110 will be rerouted for the Chick-fil-A Bowl Parade.

Starting at 4 p.m. on New Year’s Eve until the end of revenue service on New Year’s Day, Bus Routes 1, 3, 13, 16, 32, 42, 49, 51, 55, 74, 110, 155 and 186 will be rerouted for the Peach Drop at Underground Atlanta.

For the Peach Drop, Peachtree Street between Martin Luther King, Jr., Drive and Auburn Avenue will be closed, as well as Pryor Street and Park Place between Martin Luther King, Jr., Drive and Auburn Avenue.

Bus and rail services will operate a Sunday/Holiday schedule on New Year’s Day.

The Reduced Fare and Lost & Found offices will be open during regular business hours on New Year’s Eve but will be closed on New Year’s Day.

On New Year’s Eve, the Five Points RideStore will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., and the Airport RideStore will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. On New Year’s Day, the Five Points RideStore will be closed, but the Airport RideStore will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
