Despite Paul Walker's Death, 'Fast and Furious 7' to Hit Theaters in 2015, Vin Diesel Says

Vin Diesel Paul WalkerDespite rumors from Universal Pictures that the highly anticipated “Fast and Furious 7” might be reshot or shelved after the death of star Paul Walker, one of the film’s stars on Sunday announced that the Atlanta-filmed action flick would hit theaters in 2015.

Actor Vin Diesel announced on his Facebook page late Sunday that “Fast and Furious 7,” which also stars Tyrese Gibson and Michele Rodriguez, will be released April 10, 2015.
Diesel posted a photo on the Facebook page of the co-stars, writing:
“The last scene we filmed together…..
There was a unique sense of completion, of pride we shared… in the film we were now completing… the magic captured… and, in just how far we’ve come…
Fast and Furious 7 will be released…
April 10th 2015!
P.s. He’d want you to know first…”
As of early Monday, more than 800,000 people had “liked” the Facebook post.
Walker and his business partner Roger Rodas were killed Nov. 30 in a car crash. The “Furious” crew was on Thanksgiving holiday break from production when Rodas’ Porsche slammed into a tree and burst into flames. Walker and Rodas had been at a charity event in Santa Clarita, The Wrap reported.
Following Walker’s death, producers halted production on the nearly $200 million film. The Wrap reported that production was more than halfway complete, but many of Walker’s scenes had not been shot.
