The players will be joined by other volunteers from the community. The group will be sorting donated supplies, handling small maintenance projects and preparing and serving lunch to the women and children at the shelter.
The Falcons have partnered with Hands On Atlanta, one of the largest community-based volunteer service organizations in the United States, in an effort to encourage volunteerism across the city of Atlanta. All year, special Rise Up Atlanta volunteer projects will be featured on riseupatlanta.com. City of Refuge is located at 1300 Joseph E. Boone Blvd, Atlanta, GA 30314.
Also this week, center Joe Hawley, guard Justin Blalock, guard Garrett Reynolds and offensive tackle Mike Johnson will treat five military families to a special night at Dave & Busters at Sugarloaf Mills Mall in Duluth on Tuesday. The families will play games and eat dinner alongside the players. Additionally, the players will surprise each family with gifts for the holidays. The families were identified by the USO of Georgia, Inc.
