The American Music Awards were filled with Latin flavor this year. They were hosted by Pitbull, Marc Anthony received an award and Celia Cruz came to life in J.Lo’s amazing tribute.
The tribute to the “Queen of Salsa” was one of the best moments of the awards show. Lopez was able to get the whole audience invested in her carnaval with various wardrobe changes and a stage filled with dancers.
Jennifer sang many of Cruz’s songs during her homage including: “Quimbara,” “La vida es un carnaval” and “Bemba Colorá.” At the end of the performance the singer was concise when speaking, “Que viva Celia!” (Long live Celia!) she yelled as the crowd applauded wildly.
