Falcons Award Refurbished Equipment Grants to Local Schools

Falcons_logo.jpgThe Atlanta Falcons and the NFL Football Foundation recently awarded grants to 17 youth/prep football programs and organizations that demonstrated a significant need for funds to refurbish football equipment. As a leader in the community and a strong supporter of youth football initiatives, the Atlanta Falcons, through the NFL Football Foundation Matching Grant program, were able to provide $16,900 in grants.

Oconee County Parks and Recreation Department (Watkinsville, GA)

River Ridge Junior Knights (Woodstock, GA)
Sandy Creek Patriots Touchdown Club (Tyrone, GA)

The NFL Football Foundation seeks to use football as a catalyst to promote positive youth development, support youth and high school football nationwide, and ensure the health of football in future generations. The scope of this encompasses development strategies including formal grant programs, public policy advocacies, curriculum development, and working with USA Football (non-profit organization endowed by the NFL Football Foundation to serve as a governing body for youth and high school football) regarding the standardization of policies and procedures.
 
FALCONS ANNOUNCE WEEKLY COMMUNITY AWARD WINNERS
 
The Atlanta Falcons are pleased to announce the winner of the 2013 High School Coach of the Week presented by Russell Athletic for the week of November 18.
 
High School Coach of the Week presented by Russell Athletic:
Nic Vasilchek of Luella High School in Locust Grove, GA has been selected as this week’s NFL High School Coach of the Week presented by Russell Athletic.
 
Each week of the season, the winner of this award will receive a personalized certificate from the NFL League Office, a commemorative game ball and a $1,000 grant from the NFL Foundation to his school’s athletic department.
