A mother of 10 was shot dead while trying to break up a fight between two women at an Atlanta restaurant, Fox 5 News reports.
The fatal shooting took place outside of the Brick House Restaurant on Bouldercrest Dr. around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday night. When Charlese Brooks (pictured) tried to break up the fight, one of the women pulled out a gun and started shooting. Brooks, 34, was hit multiple times and died at the scene. The suspect fled, according to authorities.
But Atlanta police say 35-year-old Terri Williams turned herself in at her attorney’s office Wednesday morning. She is charged with murder and will be held in DeKalb County Jail. In a statement, Williams’ attorney said he believe his client’s name will be cleared once the investigation is complete.

“Ms. Terri Williams voluntarily presented herself to detectives this morning,” attorney W. Scott Smith said in a letter emailed to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “We strongly believe that Ms. Williams will be fully exonerated.”
Brooks, who is from Rex, Ga., had four biological children and six adopted children who range in age from 4-18.
The owner of the Brick House Restaurant told FOX 5 that Brooks was her cousin and that friends knew her as “Beasley” or “Ms. Atlanta.”
