UPDATE: Sept. 18, 2:48 PM:

(AP) — A 14-year-old Georgia girl abducted in a home invasion robbery was found alive on Wednesday after a massive search by multiple law enforcement agencies, and two suspects were in custody, police said.

Ayvani Hope Perez had been taken from her home early Tuesday after authorities said robbers broke in, demanded money and jewelry and were told there was none. Authorities have said the robbery and abduction appeared to be random.

Clayton County Police Chief Gregory Porter said the girl was found in Conyers and has been reunited with her family.

“She’s in good health, she’s being evaluated as we speak,” Porter said.

He said two suspects were in custody. However, FBI Special Agent Rick Maxwell said those two suspects were not the two men identified in police sketches. Authorities are still looking for tips about those two men identified in the sketches, Maxwell said.

When asked at a news conference whether the suspects in custody knew Ayvani and her family, he said only that “we have not determined the relationship between those people.”

The FBI and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation assisted Clayton County police in the search.

The two men first identified by authorities, described as wearing black clothing and armed with handguns, pried open a back door of the home in the Ellenwood area around 2:15 a.m. Tuesday, demanding the items, authorities said.

The family had moved in about a month ago and apparently didn’t know the suspects, authorities said.

Ayvani’s mother had her daughter and her 15-year-old son hiding inside the home, but the intruders were able to find them, police said in a statement. The men abducted Ayvani with no explanation, police said.

The crime happened on a cul-de-sac in Ellenwood, a small community about 10 miles southeast of Atlanta, police said. The subdivision of two-story homes is on the northern edge of Clayton County, just south of the DeKalb County line.

On Tuesday evening, more than 150 people gathered in a circle and held hands in prayer at the candlelight vigil at Dutchtown High School in Hampton.

Two unidentified African-American men (pictured) carrying guns broke into the Ellenwood, Ga., home of 14-year-old Ayvani Hope Perez (pictured) early Tuesday morning demanding money and valuables. When Ayvani’s mom, Maria, could not provide the robbers with anything of value, they shot the family’s dog and kidnapped the teen, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC).

Maria tried to hide her two teen children and dog from the gunmen but was unsuccessful. After finding nothing worthwhile to steal, the men decided to take Ayvani. Maria did not know the men who pried open her backdoor in order to gain access to her home, which is located in a subdivision.

Maria and her children had just moved into their home one month ago. The two men escaped with Ayvani in a gray Dodge and were sporting dark clothing.

An Amber alert has been activated for the 4-foot-9, 93-pound girl with brown eyes and brown, wavy hair. The FBI and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has also joined forces with the Clayton County Police Department on the case.

The family is also trying to raise a $10,000 ransom to give to the teen’s abductors.

Ayvani’s dad, Alberto, who lives in Texas, was also en route on Tuesday to join his ex-wife in Atlanta. According to Alberto’s sister, Suky Guerrero, who spoke to AJC, her brother lacks the funds for the ransom. Guerrero told AJC, “My brother doesn’t have a clue. He doesn’t have any money like that.”

The GBI released sketches of the men. Anyone with information about the kidnapping should contact a special tips hotline at 770-477-3513 or Clayton County police at 678-610-4781.
