Ex-New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez‘s alleged victim, Odin Lloyd, may have been murdered because he knew about two other murders that Hernandez is now suspected of committing, according to The Daily Mail.

Hernandez is currently awaiting trial in prison for the murder of 27-year-old semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd, whose body was found less than a mile away from Hernandez’s North Attleboro, Mass., home on June 18.

But the Boston police are also investigating whether Hernandez is also responsible for the murder of two immigrants, Daniel Jorge Correia de Abreu, 29, and Safiro Teixeira Furtado, 28, from Cape Verde in the Boston area in July of 2012.

In that case, Abreu and Furtado were riddled with bullets, when a passing SUV reportedly fired shots in to their vehicle.

Hernandez has yet to officially be charged.

A police source says that Lloyd could’ve been killed because of his knowledge about these two killings. The police have yet to comment on the motive behind Lloyd’s murder.

Since his arrest, Hernandez has continued to plead not guilty from his prison cell and has reportedly hired a high-power defense lawyer to help fight the charges.

Within a week of Hernandez’s initial arrest, the police had already begun investigating the double murder. Court records indicate that an SUV in Hernandez’s name, which police reportedly saw fleeing the scene of the shooting, was found at this uncle’s house in Bristol, Ct.

The club shooting is currentlybefore a grand jury who will decide if there is enough evidence present to press charges.

According to published reports, Hernandez grew up in Bristol and graduated from high school as an honor student at 17 before heading to the University of Florida.

His father, Dennis Hernandez, was a big influence on the life of his son, ensuring that his son stayed on the straight and narrow with his studies and football. When his father passed during routine heart surgery in 2006, though, Hernandez reportedly lost his footing and slipped into drug use and questionable new friends, including ex-cons.
