Six People Shot in Metro Atlanta in 24 Hours

 

There has been a string of violence in metro Atlanta with five shootings happening within a 24 hour period and six people shot.

On Monday afternoon, a fatal shooting at a gas station on Northside Dr. left one man dead. The victim was pumping gas when someone approached him and shot him in the head. No arrest has been made as of yet.

About four hours later, a man was fatally shot at Underground Atlanta following a dispute.

Witnesses say that a group of men attempted to rob the victim. When he tried to fight back, he was shot at least four times in front of his wife and children. Brandon Barnes was arrested and charged with murder.

At around 10 p.m. a resident of Flakes Mill Rd. was shot in the leg while standing in his backyard.

Someone fired a gun and the victim was struck. It is not clear if he was the intended target.

Two people were also shot during a card game over night on Lee St. in southwest Atlanta. They were admitted to Grady hospital and are expected to be okay.

Another shooting in DeKalb County involved a man who was shot around midnight on Whispering Hills Dr. There is no word on his condition.
