Oak Park’s Long Dry Spell Is Finally Over.

After nearly seven decades of prohibiting the sale of alcohol by the glass, the City Council on Monday approved measures to allow restaurants to serve beer and wine with city-issued tavern licenses. The ban has been cited to cause a negative economic effect.

Most restaurants in Oak Park close in the early evening while nighttime customers head for nearby cities such as Royal Oak, Ferndale and Berkley others where they can have a drink with meals.
