From 4:45 a.m. Thursday to 1 a.m. on Friday, MARTA will operate special event service to accommodate the Peachtree Road Race, Braves game, fireworks displays and other holiday events.

Due to the large crowds that are expected, customers are advised to purchase a round-trip fare at the beginning of their trip to avoid long lines on the return.

Temporary Breeze paper tickets will also be sold for cash only at high traffic stations throughout the system to assist in expediting travel. A list of these stations is provided below.

MARTA will operate a special rail schedule with 10-minute service (5-minute headways between Lindbergh and the Airport Stations) added throughout the day to accommodate the celebrations. Additional staff and police will be out in full force to assist customers.

The MARTA Police Department is working with local, state and federal partners to provide a safe and secure July 4th.

Peachtree Road Race participants can take the Gold Line train to Lenox Station or the Red Line train to Buckhead Station for the start of the race. Shuttle buses will also be available at Lindbergh Center Station before the race to transport runners close to the starting line (Buckhead Loop) and at Midtown station after the race to bring participants back to Lindbergh Center Station.

Parking for less than 24 hours is free at all of MARTA’s daily parking facilities. Customers parking in the decks at Lindbergh Station must park in MARTA designated areas and validate their parking ticket at machines inside Lindbergh Center Station in order to receive free daily parking.

MARTA has some designated lots, which charge a fee including lots at Lenox, Brookhaven, Kensington, and College Park Stations.
